College Scholarship Program

The FCBA Foundation College Scholarship Program provides financial
assistance and laptop computers to DC public high school students
to assist them in attending college. Interested high school seniors, who are matriculating to college next fall, should apply for a scholarship online.

The Foundation plans to conduct interviews of promising applicants in early April 2024, and will notify successful applicants regarding their scholarship awards before May 2024.

Who Should Apply

High-school seniors in Washington, D.C. are invited to apply for FCBA college scholarships. Interest in technology, media, and telecommunications law and policy or STEM-related fields is a plus, but is not essential.

How to Apply

Interested high school seniors, who are matriculating to college next fall, should apply for a scholarship online.

The deadline for submission of applications is Thursday, March 7, 2024.

The Foundation plans to conduct interviews of promising applicants in early April 2024, and will notify successful applicants regarding their scholarship awards before May 2024.

The FCBA Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization and educational organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. The charitable arm of the Federal Communications Bar Association, the Foundation supports service activities related to technology, media, and telecommunications law and policy and educational endeavors, including through awarding scholarships to deserving high school and law students and stipends for law students doing unpaid, public service internships related to TMT law and policy.

Links to the applications for these programs are always posted to the FCBA Foundation website in January or February of each year.

Applications will be assessed on a host of criteria including academic performance, public service, motivation, and financial need. Finalists for the FCBA Foundation College Scholarship will also be interviewed by a panel of FCBA members about the contents of their applications. In addition to providing high-school transcripts, letters of recommendation, and information about financial need, applicants will be asked to demonstrate their commitment to community service and service to their schools through short essays.

Applications will be assessed on a host of criteria including academic performance, public service, motivation, and financial need. Finalists for the FCBA Foundation College Scholarship will also be interviewed by a panel of FCBA members about the contents of their applications.

Decisions on FCBA Foundations scholarships and internship stipends are expected to be announced in May of each year. Check the program page for more details on the specific timeline for each program.
