Annual Golf Tournament

Every year, the FCBA Foundation hosts a golf tournament in a location close to the Washington, D.C. metro area. An afternoon on pristine golf greens raises significant “green” for the FCBA Foundation programs, including scholarships and internships. Over the past two-plus decades, the tournament has raised more than $450,000 for FCBA Foundation charities and programs.

The 30^th Annual FCBA Foundation Robert Emmet Lee Memorial Golf Tournament was held on Tuesday, June 23 at Westfields Golf Club. The Tournament raised nearly $7,600 for the FCBA Foundation’s scholarship and internship stipend programs! The tournament is named in memory of former Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Robert Emmet Lee, who passed away in April 1993 after serving at the FCC for almost 30 years.

We had eight teams compete for the vaunted Eagle Cup Trophy. Unseating the 2024 championship team from Davis Wright Tremaine was the Wiley team – Mike Carlson (Amazon), Henry Gola (Wiley); Steve Merlis (Samsung), Dave Obuchowicz (Gombos Leyton). The other Eagle Club teams were: Association for Competitive Technology (ACT); Davis Wright Tremaine LLP; Hookers and Slicers; Wiley #2; Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP; and Wireless Infrastructure Association.
