Segen Mebrahtu

Segen Mebrahtu is a graduating senior from Benjamin Banneker Academic High School. She will attend George Washington University with a major in Biology on the Pre-med track and possible minor in Data Science with the hopes of becoming a pediatrician. Segen is actively involved in her school community. She received the Principal’s Commendation every quarter and is involved in the Student Government Association, Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society, Financial Literacy Club, and is a Minds Over Matter Ambassador. Segen is also heavily involved in the greater Washington D.C. community. She has served as the D.C. Board of Education Student Advisory Committee Ambassador and engages with other students and council members regarding policies that affect students and communities at large. She also participated in Girls in Technology, D.C. Health Healing Futures Fellowship, College Bound, and the Pepco Guiding Light Leadership Program.
