Noah Bayu is a graduating senior at Benjamin Banneker Academic High School who is also in an IB Diploma program. In fall 2026, he plans on attending the University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Noah hopes to be part of advancements made at NASA regarding aerospace technology, innovation, and space exploration. While in high school, Noah has achieved academically while gaining leadership roles and is involved in his community. He has been involved in several honor societies, including Banneker National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), and French National Honor Society. Other than academics, Noah has been involved with internships related to AI, Infrastructure Data Analysis, and Technology, such as Atlasview.co, in which these types of experiences have helped him develop a desire to pursue engineering and to solve problems. At Debre Selam Kidist Mariam Ethiopian Orthodox Church, Noah serves as a Deacon, mentoring youth and participating in worship. He has worked with the US Holocaust Museum’s Bringing the Lessons Home Program as a student docent, assisting in educating visitors about history, leadership, and human rights. He co-founded the “Strength in Men” young men’s mental health organization in the DMV, providing supportive spaces for open discussions, mentoring, and personal development.
