Nehmiya Erkelo is a senior at Columbia Heights Educational Campus. He is from DC but originally from Ethiopia. Nehmiya is involved in the church and has over 500 hours teaching kids at the children’s ministry and started a Christian nondenominational club at school. He is the Vice President of the Technology Student Association, SGA, and the African Afro Club. He also volunteers with Berea Kids and is part of STEM Ready. In his free time, Nehmiya likes playing sports. He’s interested in computer science and wants to study it in college. His dream is to help people in less fortunate countries all over the world who struggle with electricity and water.
