Lailan Fells-Watson is a senior at Richard Wright Public Charter School and will attend North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she plans to major in Architectural Engineering with aspirations of becoming an architect. During high school, Lailan participated in Outdoor Track and Field, Interact Club, Rotary Club, the Gifted and Talented Forensic Science Program, and served as Honor Society Parliamentarian and School Ambassador. Outside of school, she served as a Site Ambassador for College Bound, traveling to Ghana for service and cultural immersion, and is also involved with the M Street Youth Advisory Council and Spark the Journey. Lailan currently holds a 4.09 GPA, dual enrollment credits, and over 150 community service hours. She hopes to design affordable, sustainable housing for underserved communities.
