Summer Series and Mentorship Program
The Summer Series and Mentorship Program is a dynamic and immersive experience offering structured growth through hands-on mentorship, skills development, and networking, designed to complement students summer internship placements.
These mentor-mentee relationships are designed to provide students with guidance, career advice, and support as they navigate their early professional journeys and explore career pathways in TMT law and policy. Meaningful, practice-specific mentoring is a hallmark of the FCBA and a key component of our ongoing support.
The TMT Law and Policy Pipeline Mentoring Program includes:
- One-on-one mentoring throughout the summer. Mentors and mentees are asked to meet (in person or virtually) at least three times with biweekly check-ins are recommended.
- TMT-specific and FCBA social, networking, and professional development events, which will be shared with mentors and mentees throughout the program
Featured Events:
- Interactive Lunch & Learn sessions focused on mentorship, professional growth, and internship success.
- A dynamic Speed Mentoring event connecting students with a broad network of technology, media, and telecommunications professionals.
- An opportunity to attend an FCC Open Meeting followed by a fireside chat with FCC leadership

- A wellness-focused program emphasizing personal well-being and work-life balance during a busy summer.
- An End-of-Year Celebration recognizing student accomplishments and the contributions of mentors, employers, and volunteers.
- Complimentary one-time student membership to the FCBA – The Tech Bar.
Mentors
They are asked to keep the substance of sessions with their mentee confidential, be accessible to their mentee, be transparent as they consider and appreciate their mentee’s perspective, facilitate sessions that encourage and inspire their mentee, offer feedback, and expand their mentee’s network. The formal mentorship pairings are intended to last only throughout this summer internship. However, we strongly encourage all mentors to remain available and accessible and to continue engaging with their mentee throughout the remainder of the mentee’s law school education and beyond.
Mentees
They are asked to keep sessions with mentors confidential, be transparent and proactive as they take ownership of this mentoring opportunity, actively participate in the mentoring sessions, follow-up and follow through on discussion topics, and be open to feedback from their mentor.
