Deputy Director, CCIA Litigation Center for the Connected Economy – CCIA seeks an experienced litigation attorney to support its efforts to defend legal rights in the connected economy. An ideal candidate is a highly motivated attorney with experience in adjudicatory proceedings before several types of tribunals. This role has hybrid work posture requiring in-office presence. The Deputy Director will report to the Director of the Center.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Regular interaction with outside counsel on both administrative and substantive matters;
- Assisting in the oversight and management of the Center’s litigation caseload;
- Legal research and writing;
- Working collaboratively with CCIA’s U.S. policy teams whose portfolios are the subject of litigation;
- Remaining knowledgeable of lawsuits involving the digital services industry and the broader connected economy;
- Litigation budgeting and accounts payable; and
- Public relations and communications regarding CCIA litigation.
Minimum Qualifications:
A U.S. juris doctor and three to five years’ experience in litigating civil claims in U.S. state and federal courts.
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- Deep understanding of free speech laws, doctrine, and precedent;
- Demonstrated understanding of trial court and appellate procedure;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex issues into simple explanations;
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills; and
- An ability to work autonomously and prioritize multiple projects, often on tight deadlines.
