FCC Attorney Advisor
Location: Washington, DC
Salary Range: $120,579 – $195,200 (GS-13 to GS-15 equivalent, depending on experience and qualifications)
Overview:
The FCC is soliciting interest for Attorney Advisor opportunities to provide legal counsel, conduct research, draft regulations, and support the FCC’s mission to ensure an innovative and competitive communications marketplace. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications law and a passion for public service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on communications law, including matters related to telecommunications, broadband, wireless spectrum, public safety, consumer protection, media regulation, or emerging technologies.
- Draft, review, and analyze proposed regulations, orders, and policies to ensure compliance with federal laws and FCC objectives.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Collaborate with FCC staff, other federal agencies, and external stakeholders on regulatory proceedings and policy initiatives.
- Stay abreast of developments in communications law, technology, and industry trends to inform agency decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Bar Membership: Active membership in good standing in the bar of any U.S. state or the District of Columbia.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
