The FCC’s Office of General Counsel, Litigation Division, seeks to hire an experienced litigator to join the Division’s highly skilled and collegial group of appellate specialists. The position would involve defending Commission orders in a wide variety of matters, primarily in the federal appellate courts but also, on occasion, in the federal trial courts and other tribunals. Among other things, the individual hired will have primary responsibility for merits briefing in appellate matters and regular opportunities to present oral argument. There will also be opportunities to work in cooperation with the Office of the Solicitor General on matters before the U.S. Supreme Court that implicate the FCC’s interests, and with the Department of Justice on various trial-level matters. This position may be filled at either the GS-14 or GS-15 level.
