AGENDA

1:00 – 1:05 p.m.          Welcome and Introductions

1:05 – 2:00 p.m.          Government Contracts 101
A large percentage of tech, telecom, and media companies have government contracts.  These contracts are often the source of instrumental revenue for companies that develop new and novel dual-use technologies.  As the FCC and other federal agencies shift policies that focus on American companies that can provide goods and services to the government and Americas across the country, are there any considerations companies should take to better position themselves for future contracts?  Many FCBA members don’t have experience navigating the complex regulations that govern those agreements.  Come learn government contract basics from people who interact in this space on a daily basis, so you have fun facts to share at your next cocktail party!

2:00 – 3:00 p.m.          Foreign Ownership 101
In addition to government contracting, foreign ownership considerations increasingly shape the complex structure, timing, and viability of FCC-regulated transactions, often triggering parallel review by Team Telecom and CFIUS or raising other national security concerns.  This panel will provide a practical, transaction-focused discussion of how to identify foreign ownership risk early, negotiate around regulatory uncertainty, and work effectively with regulators to manage approval processes and timeline expectations. Panelists will also address post-closing compliance obligations that may be imposed through mitigation agreements.
