The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems presents unparalleled opportunities and critical legal challenges for regulators, counsel, and technology providers. This panel will provide a focused discussion on the security and policy risks inherent in deploying AI systems. Panelists will review the current landscape of applicable laws, regulations, and government guidelines pertaining to AI security, analyze the current direction of U.S. government policy, and address the emerging compliance and operational challenges faced by companies utilizing AI systems.
2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)
The impending threat posed by large-scale quantum computers to today’s standard public-key cryptography requires immediate strategic planning by all organizations, particularly those in critical infrastructure and those contracting with the federal government. This panel will discuss Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and the associated legal and policy developments, including evolving regulatory expectations for the transition to quantum-safe cryptography, the risk of “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” attacks, an update on the finalized NIST PQC algorithms, and other associated legal and/or policy developments.
