The FCBA Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Robotics Committees will sponsor a CLE on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. ET entitled AI, Copyright, and Public Data. The program will be held virtually via the Zoom platform.
Join the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) for a timely and in-depth discussion on the legal and policy implications of AI training on publicly available data. As artificial intelligence continues to evolve, questions surrounding copyright protection, data ownership, and fair use have become increasingly pressing, including in recent high-profile litigation.
This event will bring together the FCBA community to explore key issues, including:
- How copyright law applies to AI training on public data
- The implications of The New York Times lawsuit and similar legal challenges
- Policy considerations for balancing innovation with intellectual property rights
The FCBA will apply for 2.0 hours of MCLE credit from the VA Bar. This program has not yet been approved.
