 AGENDA
President Biden has pledged to end “junk fees” and similar pricing practices that may be hidden from or unexpected by consumers during the purchase process, and he has called on agencies to reduce or eliminate hidden fees, charges, and add-ons. The Federal Communications Commission, Federal Trade Commission, Department of Transportation, and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and some states have taken actions to reduce or eliminate so-called junk fees and promote transparency. In this program, representatives from government will discuss agency efforts to address these fees, and industry and public interest stakeholders will examine the potential impacts of these actions on businesses and consumers.
