CLE: Enforcement 101: Structure and Procedure

The FCBA Enforcement Committee will sponsor a CLE on Monday, February 13 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. ET entitled Enforcement 101: Structure and Procedure.  This program will be held virtually via the Zoom platform.

The FCBA will apply for 2.0 hours of MCLE credit from the VA Bar. This program has not yet been approved.

12:00 – 12:05 p.m.     Welcome and Introductions

12:05 – 1:00 p.m.       What is the FCC Enforcement Bureau?
The first session will provide an in-depth examination of the FCC Enforcement Bureau and the tools it uses to investigate alleged violations of telecommunications statutes and regulations.  The discussion will focus on the Bureau’s structure, responsibilities, investigative procedures, and enforcement processes.  The discussion also will explore best practices and potential pitfalls concerning Bureau investigations, enforcement actions, and settlements.

1:00 – 2:00 p.m.         FCC Enforcement Today
The second session will consist of “a year in review” where we look back at major FCC enforcement actions in 2022 and what those actions tell us about the agency’s priorities.  The session will include a panel discussion with FCC Enforcement Bureau staff.
