1.22.3 – Internet2 is a member-based, non-profit corporation, that delivers a diverse portfolio of technology solutions to its members and helps support their educational, research, and community service needs. We are seeking an attorney with experience in federal contracting and compliance in our Washington, D.C. office. The position reports directly to the Deputy General Counsel and is essential to the legal team’s role in providing legal and strategic support to Internet2’s programmatic divisions and other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, negotiate, track, and monitor all Internet2 government contracts and related compliance requirements. Interpreting, implementing, and complying with federal procurement regulations and contractual requirements including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), OMB Circulars, and other applicable regulations.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring the Internet2 Government Compliance Program, including development and administration of a company-wide education and training plan to address key compliance topics.
• Collaborate coordinate compliance activities, including Internet2’s responses to an RFP/RFI or teaming plans for government proposals, directing compliance issues to appropriate channels for investigation and resolution.
• Review contracts on a wide-variety of matter, assist with the development of corporate policies, and generally provide legal support and counsel on a wide variety of legal matters affecting Internet2.

Qualifications

• Law degree from a U.S. accredited law school
• Admitted to practice law in Washington D.C. or the ability to waive into Washington D.C.
• Five or more years of legal experience, preferably with at least two years of federal contracting experience
• Understanding and detailed knowledge of relevant US government regulations and standards regarding government contracts administration, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
• Two or more years of compliance experience
• Excellent research, writing and oral advocacy skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to multitask and track various projects simultaneously.
