The FAA has been working to further revise its rules and policies to allow for the full integration of small UAS into the nation’s airspace, presently with a proceeding to require remote identification of small UAS. This panel will provide an update on FAA initiatives, Congressional requirements, and industry efforts that are aimed at accomplishing this mission.

4:05 – 5:00 p.m. The Continuing Development of Spectrum Resources for UAS
Numerous solutions for UAS tracking, operation, and payload will be required in order to fully incorporate small UAS into U.S. airspace. The FCC has only just begun to identify necessary spectrum allocations and define appropriate service rules, while NTIA and FAA also play a role. This panel will look at the range of spectrum opportunities that are being or could be considered for small UAS operations.
