The FCBA Judicial Practice Committee will sponsor their annual CLE on Monday, June 26 from 6:00 – 8:15 p.m. entitled “FCC Year in Review.” This program will be held at Wiley Rein LLP, 1776 K Street, NW.
The program will open with a discussion of this year’s notable FCC and communications precedent. It will follow with a panel discussion about the Ninth Circuit’s opinion (and upcoming en banc review) in Federal Trade Commission v. AT&T Mobility, a decision that effectively removed a wide swath of the telecommunications industry from the FTC’s jurisdiction.

7:20 – 8:15 p.m. FTC v. AT&T Mobility – Redefining Jurisdictional Boundaries Between the FCC and the FTC
Panelists will discuss the Ninth Circuit’s August 2016 decision that common carriers are exempt from the FTC’s jurisdiction even when they are engaged in non-common carrier activities. The will also highlight the issues central to the Court’s upcoming en banc review in the case.
