Description: The FCBA is proud to join a number of organizations worldwide to celebrate International Girls in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) day, which is celebrated the fourth Thursday of April every year. This webinar represents the FCBA’s role in creating a global environment for girls and young women to consider studies and careers in the growing field of information and communications and technologies. We are pleased to offer this student-oriented event at no cost. The event will feature a fireside chat with FCC Acting Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel and a panel of women leaders. The goal of International Girls in ICT day is to “create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider studies and careers in the growing field of information and communication technologies.” International Girls in ICT Day is celebrating its 10th anniversary and this year’s theme is “connecting girls, creating brighter futures.”

This panel will be a discussion between successful and prominent women leaders in the ICT field and will provide attendees an opportunity to learn about the diverse career paths of the panelists and the endless opportunities in the ICT field today and in the future. The panelists will encourage participants to choose a career path and make decisions based on their inclinations and talents, despite gender stereotypes or society’s expectations.
