1.18.3 – Trade association seeks motivated, experienced communications attorney (at least 5 years) to work in Washington, DC. Association’s regulatory work focuses on broadband, video, and telecommunications matters. The newly created position offers excellent opportunities for crafting legal and policy positions, directly advocating before federal agencies, particularly the FCC, and at times on Capitol Hill, and interacting with the association’s members to understand their business.
Candidates must possess superior legal research and writing skills, particularly an ability to draft regulatory filings. An eye for detail is essential. An ability to manage and complete projects is also required. Applicants should be able to perform in a fast-paced setting and have interpersonal skills. The association emphasizes team work within an informal environment. Position reports to association’s Senior Vice President. Strong preference given to candidates with previous employment as a judicial clerk. Prior work at the FCC, in the communications practice group of a law firm, or at a communications focused public interest group is also greatly favored.
