The Washington, DC office of Hogan Lovells is seeking applicants for a position to support the knowledge management and business development initiatives of the Privacy and Cyber security and Communications practice groups.  Our award-winning practice groups have been recognized as leaders in their respective fields by Chambers and Legal 500.  We were the first ever recipient of the Chambers USA Privacy and Cyber security Practice of the Year in 2015 and we won the award again in 2017.  We advise clients on an array of cutting-edge legal issues associated with communications, privacy and cyber security issues, and have a proven track record in dealing with all aspects of these fields, including transactions, investigations, regulatory, litigation, and appeals.  We also work seamlessly across borders to deliver solutions for complex, multi-jurisdictional matters.  Our lawyers have worked at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), giving us the intimate knowledge we need to help our clients.  We are looking to supplement our knowledge and expertise with ongoing knowledge development assistance.  The Knowledge Lawyer role includes creating and maintaining model documents and precedents; training and educating lawyers on resources available to them; preparing high quality training materials for internal and external training events and keeping lawyers up to date on market developments.  The Knowledge Lawyer will collaborate with firm lawyers, marketing and business development, learning and development, research intelligence and information technology teams.

Candidates must have a J.D. from a U.S. Accredited law school, excellent academic credentials, and a minimum of three years of law firm practice.  We seek candidates with experience in Privacy and Cyber security and/or Communications Law, and look for candidates with a high level of technical competence and excellent drafting, research, communications and interpersonal skills, who are motivated to work both independently and collaborate as part of our team. Candidates must be admitted to the D.C. Bar.  The Knowledge Lawyer role is a full-time position with excellent benefits.
