Date/Time: Friday, December 13, 12:15 – 1:30 p.m.

***Please note this a brown bag lunch***  Light refreshments will be served.

Topic: Join us to discuss policy priorities for public safety communications.  During the program, speakers and attendees will stuff stockings for donations to our area’s dispatch centers whose first responders help keep our communities safe all year long.  Last year, we served three 9-1-1 centers in the Capital Area Region and this year, we would like to broaden the project.  Last year, we were successful due to the generous contributions of the FCBA Foundation Board and the support of volunteers from our public safety associations, but this year, we’d like our outreach to be even greater.  We will also solicit the help of volunteers to deliver the stockings to the various area 9-1-1 centers.

Speakers: Jennifer Holtz, FCC Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB); Jeff Cohen, Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO); Dan Henry, National Emergency Number Association (NENA); Kathleen Slattery Thompson, NG911 Institute

More Information: We will provide supplies for stuffing stockings, but we also welcome donations, including puzzles, gadgets, candy, fruit, and holiday themed greetings and gifts.  A donation of any of these items can be easily made through our Amazon wish list.

We will provide points of contact to receive the deliveries at our partner agencies.  Click here for a list of target communities and if you are interested in participating or expanding the outreach, please contact Kayla Gardner (
