Date/Time: Thursday, November 19, 3:00 – 5:15 p.m.
Location:

The FCBA Consumer Protection and Privacy & Data Security Committees will co-sponsor a CLE on Thursday, November 19 from 3:00 – 5:15 p.m. entitled “The Upcoming Supreme Court Case Facebook, Inc. v. Duguid et al. Key Legal Issues under the TCPA.”  This program will be held virtually via the Zoom platform.

The Supreme Court is set to hear oral arguments in Facebook, Inc. v. Duguid et al. on December 8 and is poised to answer a longstanding Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) question: what exactly is an Automatic Telephone Dialing System (ATDS)?

This CLE will first provide an update on where things stand on key TCPA legal issues, including FCC and court developments on ATDS, reassigned numbers, consent revocation, and more.  And after a short overview of Facebook, Inc. v. Duguid et al., CLE attendees will have the chance to engage as the bench in mock oral arguments for the Facebook case that our speakers will lead.  We will then debrief on the potential implications of the case’s outcome.  Speakers and more details to be announced soon!

If you have any issues, please contact Elizabeth Hagerty at elizabeth@fcba.org.
